Our Home Base
HD Grading's home. Our shop, our yard, and most of our crews live within twenty minutes of the work we do in Concord.
Overview
Concord is more than a service area to HD Grading, it's home. Our yard sits here, our founder Kyle Harrison grew the company here, and most of our operators live within a short drive of the shop. When a Concord project calls, our equipment is on site before the excavators at most competitors have even left their lot in Charlotte or Mooresville. That proximity matters when a GC is fighting a weather window or a client is pushing a go-live date for a new facility off Bruton Smith or Poplar Tent.
We've self-performed grading, paving, concrete, utilities, and hauling across Cabarrus County, from industrial pads in the Derita Road and International Drive corridors to restaurant and retail builds near Concord Mills and the Speedway, to municipal maintenance work for city-owned facilities. Our reputation in Concord is built one project at a time, and we protect it every day by showing up, doing the work right, and not leaving until the GC signs off.
On the Ground in Concord
Concord runs on logistics, motorsports, and a rapidly-expanding advanced manufacturing footprint. Concord Mills brings a steady pipeline of retail and restaurant pad work. Charlotte Motor Speedway and the surrounding race-shop economy generate their own specialized sitework demand, heavy-duty paving, tight tolerances, and schedules that don't flex around race weekends. The International Drive / George Liles corridor is packed with distribution and light-industrial operations that need loaded-truck-rated pavements, reinforced loading docks, and the kind of grading that has to drain properly under storm events the Piedmont can throw at it. Add in Concord Regional Airport, the Gateway district's ongoing mixed-use buildout, and the steady commercial infill along US-29 and NC-49, and you get a market that's never slow. HD Grading works all of it, and because we're local, we can turn a Concord call into boots on the ground the same week.

Why HD Grading
Most grading companies that work in Concord are driving in from Charlotte, Mooresville, or further out. We're already here. Our trucks start the day ten minutes from most Concord job sites, our operators know which roads the NCDOT has under construction this month, and we coordinate with Cabarrus County inspectors and City of Concord reviewers on a weekly basis. If a project needs overnight phasing, we don't have a crew making a 45-minute drive home at 3 AM. If a GC needs us on site tomorrow morning, we don't have to negotiate mobilization logistics. That's what it means to use the local contractor.
Single point of accountability
One crew, one PM, one phone number. From clearing to final striping, HD Grading self-performs the entire sitework scope.
FAQ
Yes. Our headquarters, shop, and primary equipment yard are in Concord, North Carolina. Kyle Harrison founded the company here in 2018, and Concord is still where most of our crews live and where most of our trucks start every morning.
Full-service commercial sitework. Grading, asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, underground utilities, erosion control, striping, and hauling. Concord work ranges from restaurant pads near Concord Mills to industrial facility grading along International Drive to maintenance paving for existing retail and municipal properties.
Regularly. We coordinate with City of Concord reviewers and Cabarrus County inspectors on stormwater, grading permits, driveway permits, and erosion-control approvals as part of our standard pre-construction work.
Faster than any competitor driving in from outside the county. Our equipment yard is in Concord, so same-day and next-day mobilization is routine for Concord projects when schedules require it.
Yes. We've delivered the full grading and paving scope for the Nicolock manufacturing plant in Concord, including production-yard grading and heavy-duty asphalt sized for loaded concrete-product trucks. Industrial scope is a core part of our Concord book.
